History

The physical construction and the strategic project of the Anacleto Angelini UC Innovation Center began in 2012, thanks to an important donation by the Angelini Group that reached 15 million dollars.

On the 18th of January of said year, the UC Innovation Center’s First Stone laying ceremony took place, with the presence of Government, academic and business authorities. In August 2012, with the purpose of generating a necessary communication bridge with the faculties, an Innovation Management Coordination Committee, composed of representatives of the faculties and other units of the University, was constituted.

On the 17th of October of 2012, the inaugural session of the Advisory Council of the Anacleto Angelini UC Innovation Center took place. The second meeting was held on the 17th of July of 2013.

Another milestone in the Center’s history, in September 2013, is the launch of the Founding Member Program, with the purpose of generating the bases for the relationship between the Center and the productive world, as well as for generating the bases for the self-sustainability of the Center.

The Founding Members are: Sonda, Hunter Douglas, Mutual de Seguridad CChC, Tecnocal, Ingeniería y Construcciones Salas Hermanos, Transforme Consultores, GNL Quintero, Procorp, Optimisa, Oppici, Agrosuper, Carozzi, Movix, Hookah, QiN Technology and Frutos del Maipo.

Finally, a fundamental fact in the context of the brief history of the UC Innovation Center is its inauguration on the 6th of June of 2014, led by the President of the Republic, Michelle Bachelet.
