About the program
SinLímites vincula estudiantes UC con las empresas socias del Centro de Innovación UC en torno al desarrollo de la innovación y el emprendimiento en el país.
SINLÍMITES connects UC students with UC Innovation Center’s associate companies in the context of the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
The initiative invites students to work in multidisciplinary teams to solve real challenges posed by various companies and institutions by means of 10-weekly-hour internships during four months.
Recommendations for application
To apply, you must click on the challenge of your interest and then you can access the application form. The majors mentioned in each challenge are suggested, this means that students from other majors -with knowledge related to the challenge-, can also participate.
SinLímites constitutes a real work experience. Your application will be your letter of introduction to the organization that presented the challenge you are applying. This information will be received by the challenge’s mentor, the company’s human resources area, or both.
Read the questions carefully before answering. We recommend you to answer from a computer, and consult your Resumé when necessary. Applying for a challenge will take you at least 20 minutes.
Incomplete or erroneous data applications will remain outside the bases of this call.
What is the SinLímites internship like?
Most challenges are carried out in teams of 2 or 3 students.
A mentor in the company leads the work during the process.
The program’s coordination team monitors and supports the development of challenges.

Your contribution to the challenge will have a financial compensation that will be paid in two fees, at the middle and at the end of the challenge. The payment of undergraduate students is two fees of $ 180,000; of graduate students is two fees of $ 240,000; and Phd students are two fees of $ 350,000.

Frequently asked questions
How does the program work during the first semester of 2020?
Due to the sanitary crisis related to COVID-19, the team will emphasize on facilitating remote work to solve the challenges, during work hours that are compatible with participating businesses.
How long is the program?
This version of the program extends over 16 weeks. During the first semester of 2020, the challenges with partner businesses and institutions of the UC Innovation Center begin on April 13th and end on July 31st of 2020.
Who will I solve a challenge with?
During the first semester of 2020, you will be able to solve challenges primarily in the innovation departments of companies such as Entel, CMPC, Aguas Andinas and VaCuCh, among others.
Do I have to have taken part in an innovation or entrepreneurship course in order to apply?
No, it is not required to apply. However, for your application, we will take in consideration your participation in courses of this kind or if you have any entrepreneurship experience.
Can I apply to a challenge with a group?
The challenges are individual and the final team composition are made by the companies that present the challenges.
How long is the application period?
The application period is between February 24th and March 18th of 2020, until 23:59.
When will the pre-selected students be announced?
We will announce the pre-selected students during the last week of March 2020.
When will the selection interviews begin?
The interview period will begin March 30th and will conclude on April the 3rd of 2020.
When does the program start?
You have to start on April 20th of 2020.
When does my participation in the program end?
The program ends on August 7th, while the work with partner companies concludes on July 31st.
How do I distribute my 10 hour work schedule?
The 10 hours are flexible in accordance to your class load and the preferences of the institution that you work on a challenge with. You have to settle with your mentoring institution on the days and hours that you will dedicate to the challenge.
Will I receive credits for participating in this program?
This program does not grant credits.
Will I be paid for my contribution to the challenge?
Yes, your contribution to the challenge will have an economic compensation that will be granted in two payments. The rate for undergraduate students is two gross payments of CLP180.000. For Master’s students the gross payments amount to $240.000 and CLP350.000 for PhD students.
Can I apply if I graduated last semester?
The program is directed to students who are currently enrolled.
Can I apply if I am a UC postgraduate student?
Yes, both undergraduate and postgraduate students can apply.
Can I apply if I’m not a UC student?
This version is only for UC students.
Can I combine 2 challenges as my professional internship?
No, since both challenges are not in the same subject and are done in different fields with different objectives.
Will I be graded at the end of the program?
There is a monthly performance evaluation and at the end of the program. The mentor of the challenge will evaluate your performance and you will also be able to evaluate your mentor and the experience itself, every 15 days.
Do I have to sign a contract when I get selected?
Yes, all students have to sign a payment contract and a participation commitment contract.
How will I know if I was pre-selected?
Pre-selected students will be notified by e-mail during the last week of March.
How is the interview process?
Companies review the applications of pre-selected students and invite them to an interview, through an e-mail. The review itself takes place at the UC Innovation Center or at the partner institutions facilities.

Interview are generally conducted by mentors or Human Resources workers from the partners institutions. The SinLímites team will make an aid document available and will organize a workshop focused on doing proper work interviews.
Will all pre-selected students be interviewed?
Companies review the applications of all pre-selected students and chose who to invite for an interview. Occasionally, a partner institution might interview all pre-selected and another might choose to interview only a select group.
